My hands have been cold for two weeks straight. Silly hands.

soubresaute asked: Man, saw those New Wave flicks (amongst others from east eur) and they changed my perception cinematic possibility. I don't really care for Bout de Souffle or Le Mepris. But Vivre Sa Vie or Pierrot Le Fou--wow, those are magic! Y... Malle's The Fire Within, goes an amazing score with Eric Satie. But I think it all depends on how a film touches your experience, yeah? Everyone when they hit college goes through their "On the Road" stage. A lot grow out of it though. I guess at least it's a start?
A lot of the New Wave films are amazing, I agree with you that some of them are way better than others, but that’s true for any period/style in anything. It’s maybe a weird pick, but my favourite movie from the directors from that time is Week End by Godard. I love the rawness that people like Godard annd Malle brought to cinema. Nouvelle Vague and really all types of independent films constantly makes my perception of cinema broader and more enlightened
And yeah, I agree on the whole growing out of it part. People go through periods in their life where they try out different stuff to find out what they like.
I remember when I bought Howl and other poems by Ginsberg and On The Road, read them and knew right away that Ginsberg and Kerouac would become two of my favourite writers, and Burroughs too.
I think most people should go through that stage of their lives, because it might be something that changes your mindset in a really good way. But yeah, a lot of people grow out of it.
